Our Chef

The Black Thorn is pleased to introduce Henry Tavarez as the new Head Chef for the restaurant.

Chef Tavarez was born in the Dominican Republic and has been cooking professionally since the age of 13.

After completing his formal training at Algonquin College, Henry began impressing diners at Ottawa hot spots such as The Rideau Club, Kinki, ParFyum, Mambo and the Chateau Cartier Hotel.

Henry will be bringing his culinary creativity, a passion for comfort food and a zest for spice to The Black Thorn diners.
